World Drums

The RMS World Drum Squad is now part of the Global Ambassadors Club. Students will have the opportunity to participate in one to both of the organization's components. For example, students may choose to be an active member of the Global Ambassadors Club but not perform with the World Drum Squad. Students may also choose to perform in the World Drum Squad and be an active member of the Global Ambassadors Club. Whatever the choice, students will discover that the club offers a variety of engaging activities, events, and performance opportunities throughout the school year.

The slide show below features images from our June 24th performance at Trolley Night in the South Main Arts District. We performed several prepared pieces and improvised a few on-the-spot grooves. We were joined by Ridgeway High student Isiah Rankin who sang songs from Sam Cooke, Bob Marley, Etta James, and gospel favorites. We were also joined by a Trolley Night visitor who sat in with us on guitar.

We shared information on our Ghana fundraising efforts and raised money that will help us purchase a chop cart (food cart) for a struggling family in Ghana. The chop cart will allow the family to work and sustain themselves. Information on upcoming community and in-school performances will be posted here as soon as they become available.
